Florine's review of the Elvie breast pump

I had set the bar very high for Beer. Breastfeeding for at least 6 months. I had no idea. The pain went through my marrow. Bleeding, breasts not empty enough, it was a nightmare. But you don't want to 'fail' as a newborn mom. That's how it felt.
Then trying to pump. The bottles on my breasts made me feel like a milk factory and it made me so unhappy. The stress and tension as a newborn mom made sure that with each pumping session only a maximum of 50ml came out of my breasts. Far too little to fill the freezer!
With Don I immediately thought, is it working? Great! If it doesn't work, that's fine too. I really think the pressure that sometimes comes with giving breast milk is a shame. It makes mothers unnecessarily insecure...

And there was Elvie! I heard different stories but wanted to try it anyway. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! The first time I used it was in the hospital. Walking with Don behind the doctor to the neonatology (because of his high bilirubin, Don had to go under the lamps). Completely stressed but it was time for a bottle so I quickly stuffed the Elvie in my bra. When I arrived at his room I got a message, reservoir full!? Nahhh I really didn't expect this. No pain, hands free, nobody saw that I was pumping and yet I pumped more than a bottle full for Don. As far as I'm concerned, the Elvie pump is a must-have for every mother. I've never felt so proud. I managed to breastfeed thanks to Elvie!
