Calculate how much wallpaper you need.
To determine how much wallpaper you need, it is crucial to measure the total surface area to be wallpapered thoroughly and accurately. It is advisable to measure in several places, because walls are not always perfectly straight, despite the efforts of builders and plasterers. Here are some handy tips to help you with this:
Start by measuring the width of the wall at two different heights. First, roll out your tape measure at the top of the wall, from left to right, and repeat this measurement at the bottom of the wall. By doing this, you can identify and correct any variations in the wall.
In addition, it is essential to measure the height of the wall in two or even three different places, depending on the total width of the wall. Measure from top to bottom and note the length of the longest piece. Again, there may be a difference of 1 to 2 centimeters between the highest and lowest point of the wall.
By measuring the length and width of your wall in this careful manner, you can accurately calculate the area required for wallpapering. This will help you avoid waste and ensure that you have enough wallpaper to successfully complete your wallpapering project.
Tips for wallpapering
- Once you have received the wallpaper, check the outside of the roll to see if the image and dimensions match what you ordered. Is something wrong? Leave the roll closed and contact us immediately. Opened rolls are no longer covered by the warranty.
- Remove the approved wallpaper from the packaging a few days before you start wallpapering. Lay the strips loosely next to each other and scan to make sure everything is correct. This way you can be sure that you (or someone else) will not be faced with unexpected surprises on the day of wallpapering. By letting the strips rest on the floor for a while, they will also roll up less quickly during processing.
- Non-woven wallpaper cannot shrink. Non-woven wallpaper can only expand when incorrect wallpaper adhesive compositions are used. To prevent this, we therefore recommend using Perfax ready-made wallpaper adhesive. This adhesive contains the correct compositions for the quality of non-woven wallpaper. Do you have the correct adhesive at home?
- Non-woven wallpaper can only be placed on a smooth and even wall. Do not use too much glue on the wall and try to avoid glue on the outside (the design) of the wallpaper. Glue on the outside of the wallpaper can cause streaks.* Is your wall already smooth and even?
- Read the description that is included with the wallpaper in detail. If this is not included, it is always listed on our website under the wallpaper.
- Use a clean cloth and clean tools before you start wallpapering. Wash your hands thoroughly.
- Stick the strips together gently and seamlessly without using force. If (too) much force is used, the wallpaper will return to its original state after drying, which may cause seams to form.

Which wall to wallpaper in the bedroom
We usually recommend covering the wall behind your bed with wallpaper. Because this is often a wall without any interruptions such as windows, doors or other irregularities, this is the ideal wall to wallpaper in your bedroom.
By taking the wall behind your bed, this often has an immediate positive effect on the incidence of light. Because this wall is often not directly opposite the window, you develop a beautiful, indirect incidence of light on the wallpaper.
