Poespas x Made for Moments | Geboortekaartjes

Our very own birth announcement collection is here!

How happy and proud we are! In collaboration with Made for Moments we have designed our own birth announcement collection. The collection consists of no less than 50+ (!!) different birth announcements that have been designed with a lot of love. Classic, cool, sweet, stylish, or unique: there is something for everyone. The cards are designed with our popular fuss wallpaper ( Undersea , Nepal , Bears , Morning bird beige , pink and mint and of course Giraffe beige , pink and mint ) PS To celebrate this we have a contest so read on!

Kim & Lisette tell

Why a birth announcement collection? And where is the match between Poespas and Made for Moments?

Kim: Actually, this is something we have wanted from day one. Lisette and I know each other from the pregnancy/birth of the children. At that time, we could never find what exactly suited us for a birth announcement, as well as wallpaper. That is actually how our giraffe and morning bird wallpaper came about in collaboration with designer Dennis. I really wanted this in the nursery and on Ted's birth announcement. We started crafting ourselves and we really wanted to make the result accessible to everyone. We have received so many requests from customers who wanted the same birth announcement as the wallpaper they have in the nursery. Now the moment has finally arrived - after a year of development.

In addition, we would like people to be able to come to us for a card of a stillborn child. They also deserve a beautiful card with lots of warmth and security.

Lisette: We have noticed that there is a lot of demand from our customers for birth announcements that perfectly match the Poespas wallpaper designs in the baby rooms. Our customers really enjoy creating a certain unity in their interior. By continuing the design of the wallpaper in the birth announcement, the card provides an even more personal feeling. By using the online editing tool of Made for Moments, each customer can then personalize the card even more. Think of adding matching envelopes, closing stickers, hanging bag and so on!

Which card is your favorite from the collection? And why?

Kim: This is choosing between our children! Not possible.. I think that the giraffe card is really the summum of fuss and evokes fond memories of our own card and wallpaper. The giraffe will always be our mascot, our first fuss child. It gives so much security and warmth in a baby room. It embraces you. And I think that is what you want to radiate on a birth announcement. You are welcome, we will make sure that you feel secure with lots of warmth and love.

For Ted I would have gone for a birth announcement with the Nepal design. This is also the wallpaper in his new room. Jaap and I really like the colours and the peace that the print exudes. Plus, they are all animals that bring happiness.

It submarine -, Nepal and bear design we developed together with artist Jet. We have an idea and make a mood board and she paints in her own creativity. Then we look with our team how we can best bring the bears together. The bears are curious, encouraging, naughty and sweet. Your best friends who always wait for you and listen to you. For the submarine design we already had a clear idea of how we wanted it. The peace that the design radiates (check the light!) and the fun. Plus that color is such a beautiful base. You can use all the elements of the submarine so nicely separately. Muck's favorite is the turtle. With these submarine drawings we can make so many different cards!

Lisette: What a tough choice! I actually think they're all great! But if I have to choose, my favorite design from the collection is the one with the giraffe on it. This specific design has been a bestseller since the start of our company Poespas and it remains popular. What I like about this design is that it is suitable for both boys and girls. The ideal choice for the room (and card) if you don't know the gender of your baby in advance. The special thing about this design is that the neck of the giraffe often seems to be 'bent over the crib or dresser'. The wallpaper therefore radiates a sense of security and you see the same effect on the cards where the head often ends around the baby's name. Nice detail: we often receive photos from proud parents who show their room with the giraffe wallpaper in this way (with baby in the crib and the head of the giraffe that then seems to end above the baby). We are so proud!

What do you find important in a birth announcement? Do you have a golden tip?

Kim: You have in mind how your child might be later or whether a birth announcement fits with this. You don't want him to say later: mom, what have you done? But actually you only want to give warmth, happiness and security. You immediately feel whether something suits you. Don't share too much unnecessary information. Be clear. The first name is more important in terms of size on the card than the extra names you give your child. I myself am not really into quotes on a birth announcement. But if that describes your feeling/emotion so well then that is what suits you. You can't do it wrong.

Lisette: I like it when a birth announcement exudes personality. That there has been deliberate thought given to possible texts, verses and details. A card that really specifically suits this baby and the family. This can of course be done by adding a hang tag with a photo, a special quote or a personal message. This makes the card even more special and personal.
